TOOL MAKING


Mold making is the first and most important step of casting process. Although there are many factors can affect casting quality, none of them can outrun a high-quality tooling. Thus, tooling design and fabrication process is essentially significant. Working with CAD/CAM design tools and CNC machines, we can assure the repeatability and precision of our tooling.

GRAVITY DIE CASTING


Gravity die casting if often a manual process. In some cases where high volume production and consistency is required, it can be completed by using automated tilting machine. The speed of pouring is controlled by tilting the die.  Generally, this process has higher casting rate than sand casting and the manufacturing cost of metal tooling is higher than of sand-casting method. In addition, it offers better surface finishing and dimensional consistency.

SAND CASTING


Using sand as the mold material, this casting method is suitable for production of small volume castings, complicated design castings with intricate cores or huge castings. Sand casting offers higher cost effectiveness in tooling fabrication and great versatility while there are some limitations to this method: higher production cost, poor dimensional tolerance and rough surface finishing.

HEAT TREATMENT


In certain applications where higher mechanical properties is required for aluminium castings, heat treatment is employed to alter the properties from the original casted condition. This manipulation process is performed by subjecting the casting to a series of thermal cycles. Generally, gravity die castings and sand castings are heat treatable.

CNC MACHINING


We offer a range of machining services, including turning, milling and drilling. Machining is carried out by Computer Numeric Control (CNC), they are programmed by our skilled machinists to operate the machine tools to shape the castings to exact requirements. Machining fixtures are made in house whereby our experience aid us in optimising the relationship between cast and machined dimensions.
